Eric Johnstone purchased Anchors Way Marina in 2013 and has come a long way in bringing the marina back to full service and capacity. Eric has owned several businesses including a construction company and at the same time, buying, developing and selling real estate. Eric has a BA from University of Illinois Circle and has attended Graduate Studies for Urban Development. He has an extensive background in commercial real estate sales and rehab all while accumulating a portfolio of real estate. Eric has been a huge supporter of Youth Guidance in Chicago which his mother founded many years ago. Eric has relocated to the St. Joseph area with his wife to pursue this incredible opportunity.
Adam has over 11 years of marina experience. Adam manages the yard and coordinates the execution of all maintenance and work orders from service to storage year round. Adam's experience comes from working 8 years at Grand Isle Marina in Grand Haven, MI. Adam manages our service staff as well as ensuring environmental compliance, operation of all machinery, boat repair and training for the crew. He also has a captain's license and works for TowBoat US. With a full crew, he is always ready to assist you and the needs of your vessel.
Katie is the newest member of the crew who came on over a year ago. She can be found in the front office helping making sure all of customer's needs are accommodated and that they're happy with their experience here at Anchor's Way and performing administrative duties. She also handles boat brokerage and is the one to see if you're in the market for a boat! She is currently pursuing a degree in Business Administration at Lake Michigan College.
Jake has been with Anchors Way Marina for almost 4 years. Being totally new to marina workings, Jake has been a quick study and has learned so many new things. He can handle anything from a wax and buff to haul outs to yard maintenance and boat handling. Sometimes you'll even catch him working the front desk. Jake has been dubbed his title because he is everywhere and into everything at the marina. Jake is currently enrolled in Lake Michigan College studying Civil Engineering.
Ken purchased his first sailboat at age 15 and has been on the water ever since. Prior to Anchors Way Marina, Ken's experience is nothing short of remarkable. As a Manager at Biscayne National Park, 3 of those years at Biscayne, he served as the Hurricane Incident Commander. He has also been the Maintenence Manager at Indiana Dunes State Park and has worked at Great Lakes Naval Training Center and Fort Benjamin Harrison. Ken is an experienced welder, plumber, electrician, commercial HVAC, steam pipe fitter as well as control electronics and he is also a licensed Captain. Ken can be found in the dog house repairing engines or at the top of the mast working on rigging. Ken is the proud grandfather of 6.
Nolan brings over 50 years of sailboat knowledge and expertise to the Anchor’s Way team. Nolan has traveled the inter-coastal to the Gulf of Mexico, to the Apostle Islands to Whitefish Bay, from the Port of Texas to Clearwater. Prior to Anchor’s Way Marina, Nolan worked for Mercedes, Volvo and was charged with beginning a Fleet Vehicle Truck Division for Volkswagen. Nolan also had a boat and automobile sales business for 14 years, naturally called “Surf & Turf”. Nolan has been married to his wife Deanna for over 12 years.
